It is the responsibility of the Southwick Tolland Granville Regional School District (STGRSD ) to identify any child who is a resident Southwick , Tolland or Granville who may have a disability, regardless of the level of severity. It is also the responsibility of STGRSD to evaluate those students to determine if they are eligible for special education or related services under IDEA (Individuals with Disabilities Education Act) or 603 CMR 28 (Massachusetts Special Education Regulations) or accommodations under Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973. STGRSD is also committed to identifying children with disabilities before their third birthday in order to begin any necessary services or programming on the child's third birthday. The STGRSD provides Child Find screenings throughout the school year at no cost to families. If you have questions or concerns regarding your child's development and/or would like to have him/her screened, please contact the Special Education office at 413-569-0111.
If you suspect that your child, at any age, may need an evaluation to determine eligibility for special education services or Section 504 accommodations, you may request an evaluation, at no cost, at your local school. Please contact the Director of Special Education or the Principal at your child's school for information about referring your child for an evaluation.
