Westfield Technical Academy Transportation Frequently Asked Questions

Where will my child’s bus stop be?
Bus stops are assigned based on the in-district addresses identified on the transportation form. The A.M. bus stop does not have to be the same as the P.M. bus stop, but each bus stop must remain the same Monday through Friday.

For divorced parents, both living within the boundaries of the school district and having joint legal custody of their children, please contact the Transportation Department for information on making whole year, alternative arrangements.

Will my child have a bus transfer?
WTA students do have transfers that take place at Powder Mill School large parking/training lot in the morning and Southwick Regional School in the afternoon.

Can my child go to Powder Mill School large parking/training lot for morning pickup?
Westfield Technical Academy students may choose to go to Powder Mill School large parking/training lot (look for District Offices sign) at 86 Powder Mill Road, Southwick, MA for their morning pickup at 6:45 a.m. If you choose this option, you must identify it on the transportation form.

For the safety of all students, please follow the below procedures for morning pickup at PMS large parking/training lot:
- Parent parking is only in the parking spaces facing Powder Mill Road.
- Parents must be in place and parked prior to the arrival of the buses.
- Buses arrive at 6:45 a.m.
- Students must remain in their cars until the buses are parked, the red school bus lights have been activated and the driver has motioned students to approach the bus.
- Students must approach the front of the buses (not walking up from behind the bus).
