STGRSD Special Education Parent Advisory Council (SEPAC) - May 21, 2025
Please plan to attend the STGRSD Special Education Parent Advisory Council (SEPAC) meeting on Wednesday, May 21, from 6:00-7:00 p.m. in the Powder Mill School Library (94 Powder Mill Road,Southwick).
Julia O’Rourke, Senior Vocational and Career Counselor for MassAbility, which "empowers people with disabilities to live life on their own terms. Our programs and services expand possibilities in careers and training, home and community life, and legal rights and benefits – including disability determination for federal programs”. (mass.gov/orgs/massability). Julia will share information about the services MassAbility offers to students with disabilities as they progress through their education and begin to make decisions about future careers.
We will also be joined by Judi Bean, the Transition Coordinator at SRS, who will provide information on what the transition services look like in practice at the high school.
Our goal is to have the SEPAC be a platform and resource for the children and families of the Southwick-Tolland-Granville Regional School District.
We look forward to seeing you on May 21 at 6:00 p.m. in the Powder Mill Library.

Guidance from MA Attorney General's Office - K-12 Schools' Obligations to Protect Students and Their Information
In response to concerns regarding how potential changes to federal immigration policies could affect their students, communities and classrooms, the Office of the Attorney General has prepared THIS GUIDANCE and THIS FLYER.
The documents outline some of the issues that might impact immigrant students in K-12 schools, and describe schools' legal obligations, steps to take so support students and families, and information about the rights of all children to access a free public education, regardless of immigration or citizenship status.

STGRSD Launches Anonymous Alerts Reporting Tool
STGRSD has introduced a new communications tool to allow students, parents, and staff to quickly, easily, and anonymously report bullying, cyber-bullying, and other sensitive topics through private messages to our administration. Anonymous Alerts offers a web-based and a mobile app reporting system. Please click on this letter for more information and instructions on utilizing this valuable reporting tool. The reporting form is linked here and on the Anonymous Alerts icon above.
