STGRSD Launches Anonymous Alerts Reporting Tool
STGRSD has introduced a new communications tool to allow students, parents, and staff to quickly, easily, and anonymously report bullying, cyber-bullying, and other sensitive topics through private messages to our administration. Anonymous Alerts offers a web-based and a mobile app reporting system. Please click on this letter for more information and instructions on utilizing this valuable reporting tool. Convocation 2024 Featured MA Secretary of Education Patrick Tutwiler
STGRSD welcomed administrators, faculty, and staff to Southwick Regional School on August 26, 2024 for Opening Day Convocation, which featured remarks by Massachusetts Education Secretary Patrick Tutwiler and a presentation by Superintendent Jennifer Willard. Numerous special guests attended, including School Committee members, Southwick Chief Administrative Officer and Select Board, and Southwick Police.
Before Secretary Tutwiler spoke, an excerpt from the song Rising to the Top by Keni Burke filled the auditorium. The Secretary referenced lyrics from the song: ”Keep on believing – And don’t stop achieving ...Let’s keep rising to the top – Keep on giving to each other – Spread some love a little farther – Keep on giving all you got.” His message to those gathered focused on the importance of being your authentic self and creating and fostering a sense of belonging.
Superintendent Willard’s slideshow presentation opened with the words of Patrick Tutwiler: Stabilize – Heal – Transform. She stressed that every day is an opportunity to transform. Superintendent Willard asked educators how they will transform their classroom to engage students, make their classroom a safe place, and a space that students look forward to being in. “Choose to transform,” she reiterated, adding, “You get to choose every day!” She advised those gathered to “Choose wisely. Our students need you!” On behalf of STGRSD, we hope you all have a great and transformational school year!
